My pet photography journey began while heading out early one morning to capture the winter sunrise in the nearby forest. My husky was with me as I trudged through the heavy snow, annoyed at how cold my hands and exposed fingers were around my camera. I decided to turn back after only a picture or two as I grumbled to myself that the world surely didn’t need another picture of the sunrise anyway. Just then I looked down the path and saw my handsome husky grinning ear to ear. He was running, rolling, and dashing around like he had won the lottery. His smiling eyes and madly wagging tail were lit up in the spectacular golden light. His pure joy of the moment caused me to reconsider. He had set me straight, the morning was glorious and I had almost missed it. It was bitter cold yes, but the rays of light peaking through the trees were magical on the soft snow. It wasn’t only an image of the sunrise that I came home with, rather a bundle of thick white, sparkling husky fur that carried two joyful eyes smiling at the rising sun, saying this is bliss, this is paradise!! Have you ever looked at nature through a dog’s eyes? It’s like a sacred soul telling you that, hey maybe this is heaven so whatever you do- don’t miss it!!
